ABOUT:
Personal Development aims to develop successful learners, confident individuals and responsible citizens.
In Y7 pupils cover subjects such as Fire Safety, Disability Awareness, Charity, Financial Capabilities, Careers, Healthy Eating, Enterprise and Personal Safety and Awareness.
In Y8 pupils develop both their personal skills and attributes and their ICT skills through topics such as Image Processing, Financial Spreadsheets, Control and Enterprise.
As pupils enter KS4 Personal Development continues to cover SRE (Sex and Relationships Education) and Careers. This provides the basic foundations for Preparation for Working Life, an AQA Certificate qualification equivalent to a short course GCSE.
Preparation for Working Life prepares and develops transferable skills for life out of school, covering subjects such as Personal Awareness, Relationships, Enterprise, Healthy Lifestyles, the World of Work and Employment Opportunities, Hazard Identification and Economic and Financial Aspects of life.
