Engaging the young tenants of today and the future tenants of tomorrow is a key task for housing providers and communities. Involving younger people successfully can require a new approach and cannot rely on the more traditional methods of involvement. Opportunities for youth involvement may need to be flexible, innovative, dynamic and relevant in order get engagement and get results. For organisations, involving the younger generation can require high levels of perseverance and commitment. The judges are looking for projects/initiatives which have involved young people to effect positive change in communities by breaking down barriers, or provided valuable insight into the experiences of young tenants or promoted cross generational working and understanding.
